An easy way to boost your league and look more professional is to connect your own domain to your LeagueLobster club page so that all your public links start with your own domain (yourleaguename.com – or yourleaguename.co.nz, anything you like) so instead of sharing leaguelobster.com links you can simply send people to your easy-to-remember .com where all your leagues are listed in one place.

Alternatively, if already have a website you'd like to keep, you might consider setting up LeagueLobster under a subdomain for branding purposes. It's just as easy to set up a subdomain like schedules.yourleaguename.com to point to your LeagueLobster page so that all your links (including schedules, registration, team pages, etc.) start with that instead of scheduler.leaguelobster.com.

Let's dive in!

To start, go to your organization settings page (the last button in your left-hand navigation)

First, you will need to buy your desired domain. You can do this directly from your organization settings page or go directly through a domain registrar, such as Godaddy or Namecheap.

If you buy your domain through your organization settings page, all the rest will be automatically configured for you and you don't need the remaining steps below.

If you bought your domain elsewhere, go to your organization settings and enter the domain under I already own a domain.

Third, you'll need go to your domain registrar (where you bought your domain) and create a CNAME to point your domain to proxy.leaguelobster.com. Please see right below for detailed instructions on how to do that!

In the following examples, we'll walk through setting up a CNAME in Godaddy and Namecheap. Other domain providers will look similar. Let us know if you need any help.

Go to the Manage DNS page (look for the link under additional settings on the domain settings page)

Under Records, click ADD, select CNAME for Type, enter www for Host (or another subdomain you'd like to use) and proxy.leaguelobster.com for Points to.

It'll look something like this after you click Save:

Here, we also added forwarding from the (root) domain to www, so that when someone types in yourdomain.com (without the www), they get redirected to your site rather than getting an error.

IMPORTANT

Please note that you do not want to create a CNAME directly for your root domain, but rather follow our forwarding example. If you created a CNAME for your root domain, you would lose the ability to set up email addresses for your domain or to add other DNS entries.

On Namecheap, you'll want to go to the Advanced DNS section and

*make sure to include the https:// or it won't accept it
​**replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain

IMPORTANT

Please note that you do not want to create a CNAME directly for your root domain, but rather follow our forwarding example. If you created a CNAME for your root domain, you would lose the ability to set up email addresses for your domain or to add other DNS entries.

That's all there is to it.

Note, it may take a few minutes before you'll see your club page at yourdomain.com.
